Raiffeisen Turnier - Val Gardena / Südtirol

19. - 25. November 2023

The final is set: Marcinkevica to face Barthel

Anastasia Abbagnato and Kamilla Bartone win the doubles title

The air of Val Gardena seems to be doing Diana Marcinkevica (WTA 375) from Latvia well as she finds herself in the final at the Raiffeisen ITF Women's Val Gardena Südtirol. She managed to defeat Finland's Anastasia Kulikova (WTA 277), ranked around 100 places higher than her, in a thrilling match with a score of 6:3 7:6 (4).

Germany's Mona Barthel (WTA 250 - best ranking WTA 23 in 2013), the number 3 seed, recovered from a 3:6 1:3 disadvantage against Belarusian Yuliya Hatouka (WTA 238 - best ranking WTA 180 in 2022) and won in a high-level match with a final score of 3:6 6:3 6:4.

The singles final of the Raiffeisen ITF Women's Val Gardena Südtirol between Marcinkevica and Hatouka will take place tomorrow at 10:30 am at the indoor courts in Roncadizza/Ortisei. At 12:00 everything will stop for two minutes on the occasion of the International Day Against Violence Against Women, to commemorate the victims of feminicide and as a sign of protest against violence against women, which is unfortunately still omnipresent in our society.

The winners of the doubles at the Raiffeisen ITF Women's Val Gardena Südtirol are Italy's Anastasia Abbagnato and Kamilla Bartone from Latvia, who surprisingly won the title and defeated the number 3 seeded pair, Indy De Vroome (NED)/Katarina Kozarov (SRB), with a score of 6:4 6:2.
