Marion Viertler to play the second turn of qualifying

Seventh seed Laura Mair (WTA 697) from Wolkenstein defeated Inez Maria Kotlikova from the Czech Republic 6:4 6:1. The first set was quite even, but then Laura managed to break at 4:4 and then win the set straight away. She stepped up a gear in the second set and brought her opponent to her knees with hard groundstrokes, precise serves and clever stop balls. She has therefore qualified for the main draw and will play her first round match on Tuesday.
Finja Matuella, who is only 14 years old, made her debut on the ITF stage today. She put in a strong performance and although she lost 6:2 6:1, she can be proud to have taken three games from Germany's Karina Hofbauer.
In the last qualifying match of the day, 17-year-old Sofia Selle from Cavalese and Marion Viertler from Schlanders met. The South Tyrolean defeated the young Sofia Selle, who trains at the TC Gherdëina in Wolkenstein, 6:3 6:2. She will play the Slovakian Sofia Milatova (WTA 702) on Monday in the second match after 11:00 in the final qualifying round.
