Gojo eliminates Hanfmann and wins a place in the quarters
The third day of the Sparkasse Challenger Val Gardena Südtirol ended with a victory by Borna Gojo. The 24-year-old Croatian from Split defeated Yannick Hanfmann, who had ended Andreas Seppi's career 24 hours earlier. Gojo decided the round of 16 on Wednesday evening in Ortisei with 7:6 (3), 6:2. On Friday in the quarter-finals he will meet Giulio Zeppieri.

Bellucci loses again after twelve victories
The day after Andreas Seppi was knocked out of the Sparkasse Challenger Val Gardena Südtirol, Luca Nardi underlined his claim to the tournament title in Val Gardena/Gröden. The Italian, seeded No. 3, won his round of 16 match against qualifier Evgeni Karlovskyi 6-0, 6-4 on Wednesday and became the first player to reach the quarter-finals of the € 45,730 tournament in Ortisei.

First round defeat for farewell in Gardena-Gröden
Thank you Andreas Seppi: On Tuesday evening, Andreas Seppi's career came to an end at his home tournament in Val Gardena/Gröden. The 38-year-old from Kaltern ended his glittering career after more than 20 years on the ATP Tour. Seppi was one of the pillars of Italian tennis over the last two decades, ranked 18th in the world, played 67 Slam tournaments and won three tournaments.

Out for second seeded Jarry
Before Andreas Seppi's big appearance today at 7 pm, two co-favourites from Italy have reached the last 16 at the Sparkasse Challenger Val Gardena Südtirol. No. 3 seed Luca Nardi won his opening match on centre court against Alibek Kachmazov from Russia 7-6 (4), 6-4, followed by Giulio Zeppieri (No. 5) without losing a set 6-3, 6-4 against Petr Nouza from the Czech Republic. Kachmazov and Nouza had survived the qualification in Gardena-Gröden.

Stefano Travaglia, Nerman Fatic and Borna Gojo are the first three players to reach the round of 16 at the Sparkasse Challenger Val Gardena Südtirol. Travaglia (ATP number 305) won a comeback match and defeated 19-year-old Francesco Maestrelli (ATP number 184) in the Italian duel 2:6, 6:3 and 6:4. Meastrelli immediately took a 4:0 lead, in the second set Travaglia entered the match better and managed to even the score after the break in the eighth game. In the final set another break in the ninth game was decisive. After almost two hours of play Travaglia ended the match with an ace.
